DevOps Engineering Manager

FabFitFun is looking for a DevOps Engineering Manager to join our Tech team. Reporting to our SVP, Technology, this person will lead our infrastructure and SRE team and contribute to the architectural vision for the platform at large. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience building and managing DevOps teams. 

Location: FabFitFun is based in the Greater Los Angeles area in Beverly Hills, CA. 

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build, and operate reliable infrastructure on AWS
• Drive automation initiatives across the entire software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment processes
• Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure system health and performance
• Introduce new technology and design patterns where you believe they can help power the business
• Continuously evaluate and improve our DevOps processes and tools
• Partner with other engineering leaders to encourage a DevOps mindset across all teams
• Mentor, coach, and sponsor your team(s) of engineers
• Set quantitative and qualitative goals for the team and hold them accountable to achieve those goals
• Establish standards and best practices on your team for monitoring, automation, security, etc.
• Refine processes for the team – judge when to add or remove processes to streamline the team without drowning them in red tape
• Build relationships with other leaders in Technology and Product and leverage those relationships to enable your team
• Participate in sprint related meetings such as standup, grooming, retrospective, and roadmap replenishment
• Encourage a culture of experimentation, prototyping and brainstorming across technical and non-technical teams
• Technical contributions such as prototyping, code reviews, incident response, and so on

What You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is preferred
• 6+ years of experience in DevOps roles, building and operating production systems at scale
• 4+ years building, managing, and nurturing DevOps teams
• You’re an expert with scripting languages (Python, Bash) and command line tools
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Ansible
• Experience with application containerization and orchestration tooling like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with architecting, implementing, and maintaining highly-reliable highly-available systems
• Deep understanding of networking principles, cloud architecture, and system design for web applications
• Deep understanding of development/deployment tools like feature flags, blue-green deployments, and canary releases
• Experience with ecommerce at scale is a big plus

The expected base salary range for this position is $180-200k + bonus. The compensation package will also include an initial equity grant, in addition to a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks & benefits. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
