GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 


Review and process employer registrations for Workers' Compensation coverage. Monitors employer's policy for discrepancies or fraud. Reviews wage listings, summary reports, and rates for accuracy. Communicate clearly the rights, responsibilities, and benefits of the Workers' Compensation program. Collaborates with other agency departments to ensure all customer questions and concerns are being addressed. Builds relationships with Wyoming employers

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

 
  • Review and process employer registrations. 
  • Analyze registrations to determine if there are any discrepancies between the Workers' Compensation and Unemployment Insurance system. 
  • Review and process summary reports and wage lists. 
  • Analyze reports to determine if there are any discrepancies between the Workers' Compensation and Unemployment Insurance Systems. If discrepancies are found, resolve the issue. 
  • Obtain any necessary information to process reports.
  • Investigate the circumstances surrounding policy delinquencies. 
  • Communicate delinquency issues with the employer. 
  • Assist the employer in resolving delinquency via payment plans to bring the policy back into compliance. 
  • Bring any ongoing delinquency issues to management for further action.
  • Communicate and educate employers on best reporting practices, discount programs, and other ways to lower premium rates. 
  • Assist employers with filing requirements, and understanding the registration and reporting process. 
  • Communicate and educate employers about Claim Cost Liability, penalties, liens, collections, and other possible actions that can be taken on delinquent Workers' Compensation policies.
  • Analyze policy financial information to make eligibility determinations on certificates of good standing and, if needed, issue revocations of certificates of good standing if an employer is no longer in compliance. 
  • Investigate, research, and determine jurisdiction questions or issues for the Workers' Compensation claims department. 

Qualifications


PREFERENCES: 

 
Preference may be given to those with Customer Service experience.
Preference may be given to those with Claims Management experience.
Preference may be given to those with Insurance or Healthcare experience.
 

KNOWLEDGE:

 

  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation Statutes, Rules & Regulations, and policy and procedures.
  • Ability to assist customers in working through complex processes. 
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work within established deadlines, analyze situations that may occur, and provide input to management on possible solutions. 
  • Ability to analyze situations and provide resolutions within Wyoming Statutes and Federal law.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
  • Skills in the operation of computers and various software applications. 
  • Skills in time management, teamwork, and detail-oriented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree
 
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility)
 
OR
 
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility)
