Backend Engineer

GenePlanet, a global leader in the field of preventive genetic tests, specializing in NIPT, cancer screening, and lifestyle DNA tests, is looking for an ambitious Backend Engineer to develop inhouse products supporting the ecosystem of a proprietary platform, in Ljubljana.

Your key responsibilities as Backend Engineer will include:

• Service-to-service communication by developing and maintaining production grade APIs for the genomic data processing infrastructure which is fundamental to all genetics related products at GenEplanet
• Work with Azure services such as CosmosDB, PostgreSQL, Storage, API Management, ...
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of existing and new features
• Work with frontend developers to develop backend services for internal GenEplanet web applications

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Experience working with .net, c#
• Experience in developing a robust and maintainable software
• Good understanding of CQRS and microservices
• Capable of building backend logic for a secure webapp
• Proficient in building RESTful APIs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills both written and verbal

Having the following qualifications would be an advantage:

• Experience with microservice architecture
• You have experience working with big data
• Basic knowledge of Machine Learning
• Dockerized development workflow
