We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced NPI Production Planner to lead the execution of prototype builds in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is heavily focused on production planning within a prototype setting, requiring a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, material flow, and capacity planning, combined with strong project management skills. You will be the central point of contact for all build-related planning activities, ensuring projects are strategically planned, resources are effectively allocated, and builds are executed efficiently. Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop and manage detailed project plans for prototype builds, including scope definition, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets. Utilize project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) as appropriate.

  • Production Planning in a Prototype Environment: Translate engineering designs and requirements into actionable build plans, considering material availability, lead times, equipment capacity, and labor resources. Develop and maintain a master build schedule.

  • Change Management: Proactively identify and manage changes to project scope, requirements, and timelines. Assess the impact of changes and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Implement a robust change control process.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, design, manufacturing, procurement, and other teams to ensure seamless execution of build plans. Host build planning meetings and facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members.

  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to project timelines and budgets. Develop and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Resource Management: Effectively allocate and manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve build processes and increase efficiency. Implement best practices and lessons learned.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including build plans, schedules, budgets, and progress reports. Communicate project status to stakeholders regularly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in production planning or project management, preferably in a prototype or manufacturing environment.

  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with tight deadlines and frequent changes.

  • Strong understanding of production planning principles and practices.

  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheets).

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
