At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

Marvell is a leading provider of innovative technologies, including ultra-fast read channels, high-performance processors, leading edge transceivers, highly efficient analog designs, and powerful cryptographic engines. These solutions address all segments of the hard disk drive (HDD) and solid-state drive (SSD) electronics markets, providing complete solutions including controllers, product firmware, and reference board designs. Many of the same technologies have been utilized in Marvell system solutions products, powering PCs, servers, cloud, and enterprise systems.

The Senior Manager for Firmware Development will lead a team of engineers developing embedded firmware for automotive Ethernet switch products. The role requires deep technical expertise in RTOS-based firmware, Ethernet switch drivers, security (MACsec), and precise time synchronization (PTP). The candidate will oversee project execution, drive architectural decisions, and ensure high-quality firmware delivery for next-generation automotive networking solutions.

What You Can Expect

  • Lead the firmware development team (8 to 10 people) in designing and implementing embedded software for automotive Ethernet switches.

  • Design and develop firmware solutions, including Ethernet switch drivers, RTOS integration, MACsec security features, and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) implementations.
  • Define and enforce best practices in firmware design, coding, and testing to ensure robustness and compliance with automotive safety and security standards (ISO 26262, AUTOSAR).
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, project, and Architecture teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with silicon and networking stacks.
  • Work closely with automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to define and meet product requirements.
  • Drive innovation and optimization in networking performance, security, and time synchronization capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with functional safety and cybersecurity standards (ISO/SAE 21434, ASPICE, MISRA-C, etc).
  • Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in embedded firmware development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems development.
  • Extensive experience with automotive RTOS (e.g. AutoSAR OS, SafeRTOS, QNX, Zephyr, VxWorks, Linux).
  • Deep knowledge of Ethernet switch architecture and driver development.
  • Deep knowledge of embedded ARM firmware and driver development.
  • Expertise in MACsec (IEEE 802.1AE) security implementation for secure automotive communication.
  • Background in PTP (IEEE 1588) and TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking) for precise time synchronization is a plus.
  • Experience with automotive networking protocols (AVB, SOME/IP, CAN, LIN, etc.).
  • Familiarity with hardware/software co-design and debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers).
  • Hands on ASPICE V-model SYS and SWE development practices (requirements management, UML design tools, static code analysis tools)
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR is a plus.
