The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff Software Engineer to join GSCF's new engineering HUB in Budapest. Who will work hybrid, and will be responsible for designing, implementing the company's new greenfield unified data platform. 


How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Data Platform:
    • Design and implement the company’s new data platform
    • Understand and optimize GSCF's domain model 
    • Bring new high performant and scalable analytical solutions on the table
  • Self-Service Solutions:
    • Create simple and effective self-service solutions to democratize data
  • Data Modeling:
    • Design and implement complex data models to support both operational and analytical
      needs
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to understand data
      requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs
  • Software Engineering Practices:
    • Apply and endorse software engineering best practices (version control, testing, CI/CD)
      throughout the data platform
    • Ensure high quality data governance across the platform 


What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
  • Experience working with a variety of cross-functional teams
  • Good understanding of agile/scrum development processes and concepts
  • Pragmatic and capable of solving complex issues
  • Solid data modeling skills, with experience designing and optimizing data models for various
    use cases.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases technologies/concepts
  • Experience working with data models and query tuning
  • Experience in Data warehousing solutions (Snowflake a plus)
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages (Python)
  • Familiarity with Source Code Management Tools (GitHub a plus)
  • Experience with a public cloud provider (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack is a plus
